Description

UNMESH is the literary magazine of the Goa based Ganga Zuari Academy (www.gangazuari.org). Unmesh essentially draws its energy from the social, plural and secular surroundings, and more specifically from the e-Blog of the Academy that has seen increasing readership over the years. Accordingly, we are delighted to announce the elevation from an advertisement-based souvenir- Indradhanush to a full-fledged annual literary magazine - Unmesh with its unique International Standard Book Number (ISBN). We hope to make Unmesh an established literary magazine in the days to come. However, a magazine is only as effective as the work in its pages, and we’re grateful for the many fine submissions we receive. Though we’re able to publish just a small fraction of them (in fact we had to reject many), we’re moved by the stories, essays, and poems that come our way. The subject matter of the submissions has changed over time, reflecting the changes in culture and society. I sincerely hope the stories, essays, and poems in this issue of the Unmesh will transport the readers to places both named and unnamed and give you a new understanding of life, people, and the dynamic relationship of human beings living in this world.
